More Details: Our ceremony was held at the Cathedral of St. Patrick’s in Dilworth and our reception was at the Vanlandingham Estate in Plaza Midwood. The theme was The Great Gatsby/The 1920s. My husband and I are big-time period people so when my sister suggested the theme I knew right then it was meant to be.

The funniest moment was at our reception. My dad read a poem that he had specifically written for my husband. It was about the tattoos on my husband’s left arm that he hid from my father the first time he met my family. There’s a video of it somewhere.

Besides getting to marry my best friend and husband for life, it was so special that day to see all of our friends and family who came to our wedding to support us. Between the ceremony and the reception, we had around 160-175 guests. Some came from as far as Australia, Pennsylvania and the foothills of North Carolina to be with us. It really meant so much that even the people who were not able to make it sent their love and support. We truly are blessed to have so many amazing people in our lives.

All of my vendors were great, including New York Bride & Groom, which is where my dress, my bridesmaids’ dresses and the men’s rented suits came from. My sister knew my Essense of Australia A-line gown was “the dress” even before I did. After trying on at least 10 others, she told me it was the only one that I lit up in. I really fell in love with the low V design in the back and just all the beading. I truly felt like a princess on our special day.
